That's the only silver lining I see here - if you can call the damage about to occur a silver lining. GOP had been now spend their time developing an Obamacare exit plan to pitch if they think this will serve to sweep them into control of house and senate next year.
Such a plan would necessarily have to include pre-existing coverages for those who are signing up now, but could - in theory - allow everyone to go back to the old rules...bah, it's a mess; we're screwed.

If the beltway GOP won’t fight an engaged battle over obamacare now, they never will. The Senate GOP preemptively surrendered. The House lasted a week before apparently surrendering. The RNC, NRCC and NRSC never did a damn thing during this debate. Plenty of the beltway GOP seem to be quite comfortable with obamacare.
