Belgian Journalist Pierre Piccinin, freed after being kidnapped by terrorists in Syria: “It is not the Al-Assad government who has used the gas”

Freed after being kidnapped in Syria, Belgian teacher and writer, Pierre Piccinin da Prata, has said that the Syrian government did not use chemical weapons.

“This is my moral duty to tell about this,” he said in an interview with the RTL-TV channel.

“This is not Assad’s government who used sarin gas or any other combat gas in the Damascus area. We are sure about this after we accidently heard a conversation between rebels”.

From the comments at source:

Why isnt this translated and put on us tv?

Why doesn’t the news report this very credible evidence? This is by far more credible than the bogus evidence the Obama administration is using against the Syrian government. I think the U.S. has started this entire chemical weapons attack hysteria as a mode of physchological warfare...

Belgian Journalist Pierre Piccinin, freed after being kidnapped by terrorists in Syria: “It is not the Al-Assad government who has used the gas”

“The Free Syrian Army (FSA) (Kerry and McCain “moderates”) stopped us and delivered to the brigade Abu Ammar, the name of its leader. These people are half-crazy, more brigands qu’islamistes more or less subservient to the Al-Farouk movement, one of the main rebel groups”.

According to him, the Syrian revolution “had a very important development in the last seven, eight months. We are faced with waves of Islamists or robbers of certain groups who extort civilians on the territories. I think it has become very dangerous for Westerners to even venture in Syria under the current conditions of a revolution that is decaying and turning to something else. “

Yea. President You Didn't Build That is the greatest statesman of all time, as well as the winner of Nobel peace prize. How could such a great man stoop to telling self-serving lies?

"I believe this reporter has denied saying that"

That's not true. He registered his declaration to a Belgian judge.

The former hostage told several media in the wake of his return to Belgium, he had revelations to make on the use of chemical weapons in Syria. "It is a moral duty to tell. This is not the government of Bashar al-Assad has used sarin gas or other fighting in the suburbs of Damascus. We are sure after a conversation we have surprised (between the rebels) "

Assad not Responsible for Ghouta Gas Attack, Says Freed Hostage Pierre Piccinin

A Belgian writer held hostage for five months in Syria has said that his own rebel captors denied that President Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the Ghouta massacre.

Pierre Piccinin said that he and fellow hostage Domenico Quirico, an Italian war reporter, heard their jailers talking about the chemical weapon attack and saying that Assad was not to blame.

Quirico confirmed to La Stampa newspaper that they had eavesdropped such a conversation through a closed door but added that he had no evidence to substantiate what he heard.

Piccinin said the captives became desperate when they heard that the US was planning to launch a punitive attack against the regime over the gas attack in the Damascus suburb.

“It wasn’t the government of Bashar al-Assad that used sarin gas or any other gas in Ghouta,” Piccinin told Belgian RTL radio after he was released.

“We are sure about this because we overheard a conversation between rebels. It pains me to say it because I’ve been a fierce supporter of the Free Syrian Army in its rightful fight for democracy since 2012,” Piccinin added.

“We were prisoners, stuck with this information and unable to report it,” he said.

However, his fellow prisoner said it would be “madness” to say that he knew for sure that Assad was not culpable.

“I do not know if this is true but nothing tells me it is,” he said.

Quirico said he listened to a Skype conversation between three individuals, whose names he could not confirm. One identified himself as a Free Syrian Army general.

The three contended that insurgents had used gas in Ghouta to trigger Western intervention.

I was trying to find a link but can’t. I know I saw it somewhere but almost all articles I googled are in French. If I find anything at all ill post it here. No luck so far though.

The post 6 from Margeurite seems to agree with the assertion in the Free Syria Press. Do you have some evidence you can post?

Everyday another million in the USA realize the lie that the Assad government did this. It was definitely the Al Qaeda. There is now no doubt about it.

Nope. From everything I read I’m wrong. I can’t recall where I saw the article I’m looking for and no articles I see report him retracting or denying the statement.

Thanks , just another source to support what common sense says is the truth. Let see the UN arrives on a Monday to look at the weapons issue and Assad attacks the next day in war he is winning. Ya right . We know the house of Saad needed to get us the intervene and this was their solution, then ask the congressman on their payroll to support. They are not happy and will find a way to get us to attack. Time will tell.
