There were some flakes in the sky today here.
But only water drops hitting the ground.
Cold air aloft, warmer air at ground level.
Hmm.
We have that in the summer. It’s called “virga.” It’s when rain falls but evaporates before it can hit the ground because of the heat from the desert. It can be seen from a bench if the clouds are out on the valley floor. You can see the clouds and the rain, but the rain disappears before it even gets close to the desert. Pretty cool!
