Oh, I hate a flooding basement.
When Bryan and I were house hunting, we found the perfect place, the right size, floor plan, location, and price.
Then we were shown the basement, and the multiple water marks on the walls sent us scurrying like rats. Major home-plot drainage construction fail.
We even assessed the problem and saw the solution, but paying for that would have pushed the price out of our range.
Then we found The Fortress. It is well situated on the property, and the drainage was very carefully planned. And no water stains in the basement.
I keep talking about The Fortress, so perhaps you would like to see it? Pics taken in late Fall, just a month after escrow closed (2009), but before the first snow.
You can see some of the things we gave to Goodwill at the side of the house.
The former owner left a LOT of okay stuff behind, but we have our own stuff, and gave his away.
There was also a lot of trash strewn about, and junk everywhere. It was a mess, but ten giant, black trash bags later, the house was empty and ready for us to move in.
