Howya! Elen and Sally are headed for England with OldTax-lady tomorrow. The latest plan is I’ll have them at Charlotte airport around 7:00 a.m., and then they’ll go to Philadelphia, and then they’ll hope for the best. Mom’s a retired USAir employee, so they’re Standing By.
“Did you lose all your money in the stock market? Why are you standing by, at your age?!?” asked my aunt, who is 82, but Mom says that if they make it, the total cost will be about 1/5 of the ticketed price. “We can go on another trip!”
She’ll phone me by 5:30 a.m. to tell me if she got on the originator out of Orlando.
I really, really like the way Mom thinks! ( The “we can go on another trip” part.) If everyone involved has flexibility w/respect to time, it’s the sensible way to do things. The only thing that bothers me is having read somewhere that some airlines are cancelling a lot of flights that aren’t fully booked to save $. That means that the remaining flights would be more heavily booked. However, I think that the article involved just those airlines that were in dire financial straits and have since gone belly-up. Prophylactic prayers in progress.
Have a safe trip to the airport!
Good night and sweet dreams, y'all!
Howdee! Waiting this week on my down under kin to show! Yep, we had to bury ‘em.
