Thanks. She’s had a bad heart for years, but they don’t know if she can survive another surgery. Or survive without it. My brother just wants to get her home.
I hope they get that done soon, with no red tape.
Oh, dear! What a thing. Hospital in Turkey, *shudder*.
Congratulations! There’s nothing like a little primitive camping, but eventually, one does want running water and electricity.
My brother said it is new, and is “state of the art,” whatever that means in that part of the world, so all I can do is pray.
Could be okay, then. There’s some wealth in Turkey.
Elen has a babysitting job, two nights this week and two nights next week. One 12-year-old girl; we know the family from swim team. When I suggested $15 per evening as a reasonable fee, the girl’s dad said, “No, that’s not enough!” So Elen will end up with enough to buy lots of ThinkGeek t-shirts!
Awwwwwwwwwww.... Good morning!
LOL!
Babysitting is often underpaid.
I don’t think the ship’s doctor would have released her if the hospital had been anything but top notch, so I’m not worried about that.
Just that she has had several heart episodes, each one requiring surgery. So I’m a little anxious.
Mr. Sg knew about this all along. We got a bunch of deep cycle batteries at Costco when we first got the motor home. I’m the clueless one. The rest of the universe knew all about it.
I’ve noticed!
Best wishes to your sister-in-law. How dreadful to have a serious health crisis in a foreign country!
In other news, the elegant but inert Bill was called to come into Burlington Coat Factory for orientation on Friday afternoon. Hopefully this is official hiring and getting a work schedule and getting paid time! It’s created a problem for me, because I’m sending the van away with the Envirothon team on Friday and I’d expected to have the car to meet them when they get back, but we’ll work it out.
Aha! I probably won’t retain the information (or understand a lot of it), but bookmarking for when I finish my work today. Thanks!
What colors did they want to do their hair? They used to have colorless Kool Aid but I don’t see it any more. Could have peculiar ramifications. I recall adding chocolate syrup to the small amount of milk remaining in the quart carton when I was a kid, and hearing a lot of to-do when my father put it in his coffee the next morning. He wouldn’t have cared much for this frou-frou latte jazz that’s going on now.
Red and purple.
Yayyyyyy!!!!!
Seconded. Prayers up.
I have a friend (rather xenophobic sort) who visited Istanbul and the was absolutely crazy about it. Also have a cyberpal there and, although I haven’t grilled her, it seems to be nothing like I envisioned it.
And I meant that in a good way.
Her parents left her and her two surviving siblings quite a sizable sum each, and she and my brother invested her share. Then, when the economy tanked, they lost somewhere in the area of $2M. Up to that point, they had been sending me a little each month to help. That stopped.
But they are still going on cruises and tours, so I guess it can’t be all bad.
I’m afraid I’ll have to postpone my surgery. Probably until the first of the year, as I just learned last night that Hockeybughow wants to come and have Thanksgiving with me.
I also found out I missed his step-son’s birthday today. Couldn’t even remember to get him a card, let alone send him money. (His favorite thing!)
And of course, I don’t want to have to look forward to surgery/recovery over Christmas.
I’m SO afraid I will have to go to Colorado to a funeral...:o([
Would the red and purple have gone with their eye colors? How about their wardrobes? Oh, well, off to back up Mr. Sg while he fixes a couple of leaks....
