“You are wrong, sir.”
No, I’m not wrong. I’m entirely correct.
“By renouncing his Canadian citizenship”
Again. Ted Cruz obtained three citizenships. One, by his birthright, he’s a Canadian citizen. He has access to Canadian health care, the pension system up there. Everything, that most Americans do not have access, Ted has access to.
Two, he has Cuban citizenship by being the son of a Cuban national born in Cuba.
Three, he has American citizensy by being the son of an American national born in the United states.
So while it is correct that he’s been an American citizen - he is not a natural born American. His citizenship to Canada takes precedence, and his American citizenship is actually third - since most systems regard the father’s nationality as more important than the mothers.
“The term refers to loyalty as well as geography.”
Horsecrap. The constitution is explicit. Born on American soil. Nothing else qualifies. You can be a helluva patriot but you’re not a natural born American citizen unless born on American soil.
Ted Cruz doesn’t even have a American birth certificate.
