The real question for real Americans is, “Is it possible to have a political party capable of electing a president based on anti government sentiment?”
The answer is probably not. It depends on the tactics of divisive. Obama is, if any, more divisive than Sarah. His tactics put him in office. The tactics of the TP are to control the local political establishment. That tactic offers the only possible road to the White House for an anti government organization. The game is fraught with danger.
Returning power to the local level must be the real goal of the TP.
Schizophrenia has nothing to do with “split personality.”
The Republican party is a cluster passionate special interest groups with nothing else in common with eachother. Pro-gun, Anti-abortion, anti-immigration, anti-gay, anti-tax, anti-union, anti-welfare, anti-bailout, anti-entitlements.
Most of us agree with some of those positions, disagree with a couple, but feel so strongly about one or two that we’ll walk away from any candidate who deviates from our orthodox view.
And that’s why we’re easy to beat in an election. because if 10-15% of us boycott our candidate because he’s got a record that’s not in keeping with the house view on any of those issues, that candidate loses, but any candidate who IS orthodox on every one of those positions is too right wing to get any moderate votes at all.
I wish I could believe this. It seems that the long-term social engineering and PC culture has dealt a fatal blow to conservatism and morality. I take comfort in the fact that, per God's Word, we will have to sink even lower but it will also herald His return to set thing right. Our best "offense/defense is to carry the Word to as many as we can to further His Glory by maximizing the saved souls.
I used to think my mind-set was defeatist - today I consider it acknowledgement of His love and His promises.
In my mind, the old Republican/Democrat political model is dead. The new model is between those who strive to obey the law, and those who realize that the rule of law is dead. In some ways, this is similar to a Atheist/Religious model, but not entirely.
Those who believe in morality and Good and Evil are more likely to operate within a lawful framework, while those who do not believe in a higher power have no reason to handicap themselves with something so mundane as the law of man.
Will someone please send copies of this to all republicans in congress. Even Cruz and Rand because, although they don’t need it, they might be able to make use of it.
Aha, here it is.
Pinging a few names who might be interested. I’m sure people would be too but I can’t think of names at the moment.
Pinging to the article.
Well, the GOP can rest easy. I no longer want them to misrepresent me, and to prove it, I will be witholding my vote from them.
The Republican Party can be transformed, the schizophrenic elephant can be healed, but first we have to recognize what it is and what it isn't.
No, actually, at long last, I don't think it can be transformed. (Woo-hoo, GOP, ya finally convinced me! Good on'ya!)
What it isn't, is exactly the problem.
