I had a 65 Olds 425 Rocket V8, 370hp Delta 88. It was powerful and got surprisingly good gas mileage. Many happy memories go along with it.
First my Father owned it then my older brother then it was mine. It had positraction which helped when taking my date on one of those rough country roads.
Comfortable, fast, even nimble handling. Cruise the interstate doing 80 all day. It was just loafing along.

Had a similar experience with a 65 Buick Electra 225, also had a 425 nailhead. Had cruise control built into the speedometer, setup was similar to an alarm clock. Lived in Midland, Tx at the time and as with your Olds it would loaf along at 80mph for hours on end when driving to El Paso, Dallas, etc. quite the road hog, had dual exhaust with glass packs, sounded great. Good memories for sure.
