‘My new Ford Focus makes no beeps.’

Well bless the Ford Focus!
I also do those things you describe, to make sure the doors are locked. Altho I don’t often pull the door handle.
In addition to listening for the locking sound, the interior light goes off, so I also have a visual!

Full disclosure: my mate-thru-life NEVer uses the auto key fob - locks and unlocks the doors the old fashioned way! Makes me nuts!

I also do those things you describe,

Further explanation, I do it because I'm still not familiar with the way the doors lock.

After my post, I went out to my garage and experimented with the keyfob. I discovered that when I exit my car and hit the lock button on the keyfob (that was a simple explanation on my part wasn't it) all the locks are secure.

When I return to the car and hit the unlock button, ONLY the drivers side door is unlocked. If I wish to unlock ALL the doors, I have to push the unlock buttom TWICE. (that instruction was vague and several pages into the locking section of the manual)

As for the rear hatchback, there is another button on the keyfob that I have to push twice. (Yet another page in the instructional manual).

With that being said, I think I've finally got the locking system figured out.

NOW, for the voice sync system. I just applied to MIT and hopefully will begin classes in the fall.........By the end of my three year lease, I should have the Voice Sync figured out.......
