Actually, opening day was on Friday, July 19, one of the hottest days so far this year. There were veterinarians posted along the track. I have only been to Saratoga once but it was lots of fun. Such a beautifully preserved horse track.

Hope your daughter had a good time. The surrounding community depends on the race season to draw in enough revenue to keep them going the rest of the year. Great food! Fantastic restaurants and plenty of B&Bs. Worth the trip, from anywhere.
