Dogs are a gift from God.
People note that Dog spelled backwards is God.
I don't think that's a coincidence.
Dogs are a reflection of God and are a gift to teach us by real life example how to understand the unconditional love, loyal devotion and protection God has for and gives us.
As such, a dog's love and devotion are as close as most of us will ever get to God's love and devotion to us here in this physical world.
But, dogs are also an example of the kind of love and loyal devotion God wants from us. They teach us by their example a simple understanding of what that devotion looks like.

See? Forward and backward. Whichever way you spell it or look at it, there's God, all in one. Cool, huh?
But, not to everyone, I guess. I also hear they aren't all that fond of women, either. Weird.
So, lemme see if I understand this...they hate two of my most favorite things in the entire world, and we haven't even mentioned religion yet?

When Dad was stationed in Iran in the 60’s, we were told that Iranian’s didn’t like dogs. I was very young and vaguely remember that it had something to do with a dog running off to the mountains with a prophets head after a beheading.
Many Americans stationed there had dogs, I know we did. The funny thing is that we kept the dogs on the roofs. I don’t know why, we just did. the roofs were flat and had small walls to help prevent falls.
