I pray for a fair and just verdict. My support and thoughts go out to the Zimmerman family and the defense team as we wait.

From the little I know, manslaughter involves more of recklessness in type of action resulting in victim’s death, than of a depraved mind. So I think you’re correct on that statement.

I would also add IMO that it is more likely in this case to turn a juror from Guilty to Not Guilty, after more discussion and examination of evidence, than from Not Guilty to Guilty.

The secret to a good meatloaf is to use quick cooking oats instead of breadcrumbs. The oats do a much better job of soaking up the fat resulting in a meatloaf that doesnt dry out easily.... OH dear! I respectfully disagree! My family says my meatloaf is " to die for.." lol
My secret? white bread, and lots of it, soaked in milk....add Lipton's Onion Soup mix...topped with maple bacon strips.

TOO close.
We are in Tampa, and we’re having a meat packing party. Two families freezing and cutting (and grilling) over 100+ pounds of meat.
And our guns are all nearby...

New Black Panther hopes Zimmerman is killed in prison [VIDEO]
NBPP: RACISTS!
And, their "costumes" look silly and out-of-date.
Why can't they come over to the civil side....
They should take up the issue of black on black crimes.
NBPP might have validity there. But when is that ever going to take place...
They are a parody of themselves.
To borrow a few words from the trial:
NBPP: what a bunch of f'ing *ssholes.

A question for those more knowledgeable about trials than I - at what point (how much time) of no verdict reached would the judge attempt to poll the jury to see the split and either allow more time or declare a hung jury?

Actually, in this particular case, I think a long wait is a relatively good sign for Zimmerman. Naturally, a quick not guilty is preferred, but if there are some factors that need to be debated, then consider this - which side do you think has more logic and facts to use in that debate to eventually convince the other side to change their vote?
In most other cases, there would be a lot of evidence on both sides. But I think the defense has a clear advantage on the evidence, which means in any prolonged deliberation, the movement would likely be in their direction. The only way Zimmerman gets convicted is if there were six dolts on the jury who all succumbed to their emotions, in which case a quick guilty verdict would have resulted. And we should all be relieved that this didn't happen. So now we wait, but as I said, we still have cause to be hopeful because the evidence is on our side, and I suspect one or two dolts on the jury are now being schooled by those who know how to follow the law.

If this were 6 men on the jury, I would bet big that they would all vote NOT GUILTY after they heard what we heard during the trial. With 6 women, I would hesitate to guess what they will do. I’ll even go further and say I don’t think any of the women here at FR would venture a guess at what these jurors will do. Not with any certainty anyway.

When her first public appearance in the matter was after meeting with Trayvon’s parents and she announced her office would be seeking “JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON,” she cast aside even the appearance of fairness, much less seeking justice for justice’s sake. That is what is supposed to be her role and what she was elected to do, not to favor one party over another before deciding to file charges based on emotion and political pressure.
