Their problem with Obama is that he is not far enough to the left.
You know, I used to think that was the case, but more and more I'm thinking the Left is coming to the realization that Obama's paranoia, fakery, tendency toward tyranny and increasing mental and verbal clumsiness is hurting both the Democrat and Liberal "brands."
Even with the mainstream media propping him up, the Left has to be scared that this guy could blow their entire gig.
I think it more likely that they were all for the Socialism and Marxist moves coming out the WH until THEY were on the sharp end of it.
"what?! MY phone records??!". They thought that their messiah was gonna make it rain with the other guys money, stamp out any "hate speech" (anything the left ID's at the moment as hateful) and keep doing what it takes to be "cool" and "famous" so they can share in that.
They thought they were in the driver seat but actually, they were more like screwdrivers - nothing but tools.
