Who might have been misinformed or misled, for all you and I know; you are building your case around a pencilled in number on a forgery...pardon me if I don't go into a tail-spin over it.

They claimed they had a copy of the 1961 federal Vital Statistics Instruction Manual.

Don't you think they would know if they did or didn't?

You don't go public with something like that UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU HAVE WHAT YOU'RE CLAIMING TO HAVE.

Not if you're honest and even REMOTELY competent.

And by REMOTELY competent, I mean something LESS than the level of competence of a Barney Fife.

Particularly when you have an entire TEAM of people who are supposed to be COMPETENT INVESTIGATORS.

It's not hard to verify whether what you have is what you're claiming to have.

The 1961 Vital Statistics Instruction Manual - the REAL one - has that written all over it.

It was obtained, I understand, by a FReeper, from a US government source.

What's more, at least one of the documents they presented to the public and the press as being that 1961 manual CLEARLY AND EXPLICITLY STATED AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE THAT IT WAS FROM "NATALITY TAPE FILES" FOR THE "CALENDAR YEAR 1968."

No. If you're an investigator, you know DAMN WELL whether you have that 1961 Vital Statistics Instruction Manual you're claiming to have, or not.

Unless... MAYBE... if you're ABSOLUTELY, 100%, THE WORST INVESTIGATOR ON THE PLANET.

Worse than a Barney Fife. Worse than an Inspector Clouseau.

Either way isn't good. Why should anyone believe anything presented by absolute, total lying frauds?

Or - the other option - why should anyone believe anything presented by an "investigative team" that makes Inspector Clouseau look like a freaking GENIUS?

I'm afraid those are the only two options, Fred.

And personally, I don't think the second one is really an option. I just can't believe they are that freaking stupid.

You sure are spinning like a top, careful, don’t do yourself an injury. I do read a lot. I don’t remember everything, I do save a lot, but I don’t save everything...but I DO recall where that classification business first saw the light of day, and was documented.
THE DAILY PEN.

Might (I’m sure it won’t happen again) The Cold Case Posse have taken someone elses word for what was supposedly in the manual?

You are behaving as if you’ve caught a mass-murderer in the act. These people are volunteers??? are they not? My my, such passion! It’s a darn shame your outrage is so NARROW in focus. I’m sure there’s a very good, simple explanation for what happened.

There’s an awful lot of p*ss and wind in your comment. Has anyone thought to ask the Posse how, what appears to be a mistake, came about?

I’m not coming to the lynching. Not while I have a feeling that the claims they made might have been supplied to them by someone else...other than their own team
