BTW, I did register. I have a very clear memory of it. My mother took me and my twin brother to the post office, and we filled out some cards. I always figured that having a unique sounding last name, coupled with my card being right next to my brother’s, got mine tossed out, or something like that.

You can go here: https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx and verify your registration if you were born after 01/01/1960. It could be things passed in the mail with one hand not knowing what the other has done.

I’m registered. My registration date is the day before I reported to the Army...so it is possible that my bad boy letter was sent out before Selective Service got around to processing my card, just a few days before I left.

I looked up the deadline to register...its 30 days after your 18th birthday. I’m fairly certain I did it the day after my birthday.....but my registration date is 52 days later. They were slow to process my card...but very quick to issue the nastygram.
