Has anyone else noticed how little notice D-Day gets nowadays? Maybe I wasn’t paying attention to the right outlets, but the only mention of D-Day came from me. Do you know that this is the anniversary of D-Day I asked friends and family. What’s a Deeday? was the common response. I am sorry, but the sacrifices of the brave men at Normandy was one of the most heroic chapters in human history. I will not forget.
Embarrassingly enough, I forgot about D-Day until I saw it on Facebook. God Bless those patriots 65 years ago. Did anyone see Obama’s speech? I must have missed it. It was probably incredible......(sarc).
I guess you have not been listening to Rush yesterday and today.

this assertion is not true...
I hadn’t listened to Rush, although it is a given that he would talk about it. Outside of Rush, it seems like a real ho hummer. Although it can be said for all fallen servicemen, those who died during the D-Day invasion hold a special place with me. Those young men who never had kids or grandkids, whose whole life was in front of them - they shame me for what I have done with my life. I have squandered my life in comparison. I have four wonderful children, and one grandchild. I have had my challenges, but for the most part, I have lived a very pampered existence. The young men who lost their lives on D-Day must never be forgotten. To sacrifice your life at twenty-one, not directly for your own country, but for the very concept of human freedom, is as about as noble as it gets. I am sorry, but I am tearing up as I type....
