Thanks for the clarification! I was not thinking about the developmental anatomy of the two structures, but of the relationship between the two in an adult. I have been teaching anatomy in a community college for over 25 years, and I cannot tell you the number of male (and even female) students that I have had that believe that there are only two openings in the perinium in both sexes. I guess they think that the female urinates through the vagina! The way your first response read, someone might think that the clitoris would develop into a functioning penis if an adult female started taking testosterone which, of course, would not occur without surgery.
