Well, the gold standard is Jesus, and yet God will never damn you for how you fail when you do. You will get chastened, but that’s different from damnation. Chastening is “the anger that lasts but a moment” and leads to “repentance without regret.” Don’t worry about how anyone else but the Lord lives. The race/struggle is against Satan not against your family or the world.

All of the parents, grandparents, etc are dead these days.

I was looking forward to meeting them at the River. I'll have to wait.

I also will continue to hold those in my world to certain standards. I don't care that I'm pasty white and some of them are very much darker.

I live the "it's not the color, it's the culture" thing.

My current family and friends range from pasty white to coal black. That's much less important to me than how they behave.

Grandad said: 'You don't have to be smart to be good'. And he was correct.
