Gov. Palin: Let the Light Shine

Let the Light Shine

Today we learned that our government targeted and harassed conservative Americans who simply wanted to be involved in the national discussion. Is it any wonder why Americans are so distrustful of D.C.? I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night.

So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it’s supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally.

This IRS revelation is another step in the unraveling of the Obama administration's self-proclaimed “hope and change.” Between the Benghazi cover-up and the IRS targeting Obama’s political opponents, we see the corruption at the heart of big government.

Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House’s latest Benghazi spin or the IRS’ fairness.

Despite all of this, I still believe that this “fundamental transformation of America” is temporary. This attempted transformation into a disheartened, weakened, unrecognizable nation is so far below anything Americans deserve. It becomes permanent only if we throw up our hands and surrender to the corruption and cover-ups.

We must demand more light shine on all that’s transpiring in D.C.’s self-absorbed bubble. On the IRS scandal, we must have accountability and a full investigation. On Benghazi, Speaker Boehner must create a Select Committee with full investigative and subpoena authority to get to the bottom of the cover-up. Keep the faith, friends.

I also know that learning the truth and spreading it is something I CAN do.

That is very well said AllAmericanGirl!

That is Sarah's call to action here.

If the Establishment won't do something about this, than we will!

I can only think of a few motives for the Greek chorus of “we’re doomed/nothing will happen/it’s over/0mozlem will run for a third term/nothing will come of this” etc.

If anyone can think of any other motive or tell me I’m wrong, go for it!

1. Leftist trolls who want to take away any fighting spirit.

2. People who think it’s cool to be cynical about everything and want to prove how cool they are.

3. Mentally disturbed people with clinical depression.

I realy can’t think of any other motivation for this constant drumbeat of “IT’S OVER WE LOST GIVE UP NOW”.

Hmm, just remembered another, and I say this because I’ve seen the connection on another forum. SOME people (not by any means everyone!) who think these are the End Times want everything to go south in the handbasket because they think that will usher in the return of Jesus Christ. So they actually are cheering on the dominance of evil, one way or another.

I almost hesitated to write the above but I have seen this motivation repeatedly. I think the first two motivate most people here.

Congresswoman: Benghazi Stand Down Order Came From Obama
Freedom Outpost ^ | May 10, 2013 | Tim Brown

Posted on Friday, May 10, 2013 3:30:27 PM by EXCH54FE

Congresswoman and former United States Ambassador to Luxembourg Ann Wagner (R-MO) appeared on The Dana Loesch show and placed the blame, of the stand down order to those that could have offered assistance to Americans under attack, on none other than Barack Obama.

Loesch asked Wagner, “Because you have been an ambassador, you have been overseas with similar responsibilities and similar missions – who gives such an order to stand down? Where does that come from?”

“The President of the United States,” the Missouri congresswoman affirmed.

Those are all plausible motivations for the doom ‘n gloomers. I do wonder if that is how they are in real life. Which make me wonder what their life must be like both for themselves and those around then.

I recall Reagan’s speeches never failed to be well salted with true optimism. And it wasn’t fluffy, namby pamby. It was based on confidence that American core values would triumph in the end.

I for one, will try to keep THAT hope alive.

You are probably right in your assessment of who the majority of the doomsayers are. But there is another subset of us who throw in the towel from time to time (only to retrieve it again after a good night’s sleep) who do it out of sheer exhaustion and frustration: us old-timers. The ones who have been fighting the good fight for decades - writing letters, calling congressmen, gathering signatures, educating friends and neighbors, speaking out at town hall meetings, working for campaigns, following legislation on C-Span - and when the wonderful opportunities arose, joining FreeRepublic and our local Tea Parties.

And then Obama got re-elected.

And we realize how many friends and neighbors still have no clue about who is in the White House and what he is doing to our nation. We want to discuss Goznell - they want to discuss what’s-her-name, the murderess. We want to discuss Benghazi- they want to discuss American Idol.

And now we’re old and running out of energy - and time. We don’t doubt that America will be restored. But there are days - awful ones - when we doubt that we will live to see it.

I’d say your assessment is valid. I’ve long since given up relying on the sign up date of poster to gauge if they are ‘true’ conservatives. Some of the oldest ones here have screamed the loudest that it’s ‘game over’. So yes, I’ve no doubt some of them are trolls of one sort or another.

As for some being depressed, I can agree with that as well as I’m sure it’s rather easy to be depressed in this atomosphere of tyranny unfolding before our eyes! I can empathize with that feeling, but I can’t and won’t indulge it, not here on a public forum for sure.

The idea of band wagon posters is very true as I’ve sat back and watched that happen time and time again. That one issue is almost comical as it seems they often haven’t even read the article in question! Does it really take an act of bravery to be original these days?

To the end of times people, what can I say?! I see them, I know what you are saying about that group of people and I simply refuse to engage with them, EVER. I have children and hope to be blessed with grandchildren some day. As a Christian, I have no fear of Jesus’ return and what comes with the end times. But, to give up in any sense while I am on this earth, is AGAINST God, in my opinion. I wasn’t put here to give up and give in to anyone who desires to enslave me, and then have the option of saying it’s ‘the end’ so I will sit and welcome it! That is dangerous and defeatist to your soul and to those around you. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

The days I feel overwhelmed with all the garbage news, I pull back, get perspective and renew myself to fight another day. I’m thankful to be among others who have the good sense to know where to fight and when, not every fire requires a full out assault!

I will continue to stand with others who find this exhausting yet necessary.
