>>You’re forgetting one thing: that supply-line is right inside the disputed territory — and the ‘enemies’, being Americans, will blend in with the general American population...

You’re forgetting another thing: half of those “americans” are quisling traitors who will turn the freedom fighters in in a second. They can do it anonymously by phone or by internet. They don’t need to be seen getting chatty with the police or ObamaCorps officers. Comparing an insurgency in modern America to one in the 18th century or in a third world shithole is apples and oranges.

What Internet? What phone system? What electricity? What water? What sewers? Not exactly the stone age, but dang close.

Of course there would be traitors. But still, he fact remains, they have to secure everything. Can they leave their bases with normal gate guards and a force that is designed to deal with drunken PFCs? That invites attacks on families and support troops.

How about staging areas? Of course, everywhere they go, they need a large securit element.
And which of their own troops must they worry about?

One drone builder, or MRE factory gets attacked,, several workers at the Hellfire plant get carjacked on the same afternoon, etc. So contractors scream for military protection. America is big,,, very big.

Meanwhile,,think back to Boston. how much commerce happened on lockdown day? The economy starts hurting,,, badly.

Pressure builds as the efforts begin to interfere with the basic functions of a city. (does your city have airlines? it wouldnt during this)

Civil wars are nasty, murderous, nightmarish, and deeply personal. Everything i mention is happening a short drive from Texas TODAY. Simply glance at Mexico. No, the US military cannot win in a war with its own people. This is by design,,, no matter how much the socialists wish it could.

It doesn't work that way when people's family-members start being taken; and, indeed, people can really start banding together in such situations.

Comparing an insurgency in modern America to one in the 18th century or in a third world shithole is apples and oranges.

Comparing is valid, especially since the grasp on stability is so tenuous: turn the power off for a big-city for a week and see what happens. In a real CWII/guerrilla situation power's going to be a big target (and food, and water) and those are going to become unstable as a result. Hell, when I was in Iraq, in the Green-zone, we'd have spotty/fluctuating power and we [the Army/coalition] were generating it ourselves. That was in the secure part of the war-zone, virtually everywhere in America is going to be less secure than that and therefore at more risk.
