Obama entered the U.S. in 1971 as a foreign national. Later he became permanent resident alien (green card holder). Permanent resident aliens are entitled to apply for and receive a SSN.
The SSA keep a record of the documents submitted by the applicant and has specific policies and procedures in placed for SSA document examiners to verify the validity of those documents. The information is kept in the NUMIDENT file associated with SSN assigned to the applicant. Citizenship or alien registration number can be determined at the time of application by examining the NUMIDENT file.
Like a birth certificate, a SSN applicant is entitled to submit a request form and pay a fee to receive a certified copy of the original Form SS-5, Application for SSN, and the applicant’s NUMIDENT file.
Instead of demanding Obama obtain a certified copy of his Form SS-5 or NUMIDENT file from SSA, a few Freepers are demanding I explain Obama’s motivation for applying for a SSN in 1977 and not 1972. It’s no wonder Obama has gotten two terms.

1971/72 is when SSN’s were REQUIRED for people receiving ANY FEDERAL FUNDS.
1977 is when the SSN was OBTAINED.
