I teach High School where there is an 84% minority population. I often get that type of question; the “why does everything bad have to be black” My answer is simple. “You all want to be economically successful, right?” “In the world of money, you always want to be IN THE BLACK, never the RED.” Makes my students real happy. (except the Native American ones, sarc)
I heard complaints about calling “black friday”. I explain to them that’s the day a lot of retailers finally go into the black for profit and that is a good thing.
I’ve also heard that the “black hole” is racist.
