I'm not sure about the company's official HQ, but Marlin's production is in NY now, alongside Remington. Reportedly, the quality of the lever guns has suffered as a result.

Of course, New York gunmakers could be asked the same questions. I see no reason to put money in the coffers of anti-gun states through corporate taxes.

Not only would they find a cheaper labor force if they moved south, they would find thousands of people who know and love and respect firearms, and as a result, quality would be high. If they locate near a major military base like Ft. Benning or Parris Island they could tap into the retired military job pool as well.
