Palin/Bachman 2016. Unbeatable ticket?
Free Republic ^ | 3/26/13 | Mr.K

Before Newt Gingrich and the GOP try to peddle this insanely ridiculous "Reince Revolution" baloney (seriously- with a straight face he said that????) I would like to get out front with what I think would be an UN-BEATABLE ticket in 2016

Palin/Bachman

They would get ALL the GOP vote and at least half the Women's vote from Democrats.

Plus they would SPEAK THE TRUTH instead of GOP-approved pablum, and -like when Ronald Reagan spoke the truth- the PEOPLE WOULD LOVE IT

Yes, and I like to think we (conservative women) have more active gray matter than the average groupthink idiot liberal female.

I agree, the midterms are most important right now.

Dr. Common Sense is for gun control. I've been telling people not to get too excited about him. He might make a good Secretary of something, but Prez, not a chance. Same with Christie. If you think another NE liberal has a chance in the fly over country,......I got some beach front to sell you. The Romney folks still don't get it yet I think. It will be asking a lot to get a nominee that hasn't been a Governor or at least another Senator. That was Cain's problem, he had never even been a Mayor.

Out of the bunch we have showing up right now, I like Newt or Cruz. Newt would be a tough sell after 2 attempts, but Cruz might pull it off if he wanted it, IMO. Rand has his dad's problem in foreign affairs and I think Rubio will come off as another establishment Repub. Cruz is the real deal, but I don't know if he wants it, or would be accepted after just a couple of years as Senator. We have one of those right now. If Cruz runs, he could/would run Sarah as VP. The shitstorm Sarah has following her, IMO, would be just too great to overcome. Most people don't see her as we do. I love her but I don't think she could overcome the smears already against her.

There is another scenario I think might come. If the Tea Party doesn't get some love soon from the Repubs, we may have a 3rd party. I don't think conservatives are going to take being kicked to the curb much longer. The problem with the Tea Party is they are stuck on just tax cuts. The Christians are looking for a home with abortion and gay marriage. Law and order people are looking for border control and NO gun control. People like McCain and Preibus, are selling us down the river thinking we have no where to go. If the Tea Party gloms on to Rand Paul, they will be neutralized. The list gets smaller and smaller other than Cruz or Palin. I like Newt cause he's the real deal, but people don't seem to like him either. I'm sick of looking for a guy to have a beer with as president. Newt has Founding Father type qualities and has governed( successfully) before. I give him full credit for balancing the budget before. He forced Clinton into balance and the bent one got the credit. I also like his ideas about stopping payment to certain judges.

I don't know anybody perfect, but Cruz or Newt would be my choices right now. The Repubs seem to be forcing Rubio or Rand on us and I think that will peter out before 2016. I don't think Newt will try again, but Cruz just might. Palin will have 2 more books by then. I don't think she will even try.

OH, Romney was destined to lose from the outset. I HATED Romney. Still do. Four years of his crap in MA was enough to let me know he was an empty suit.

For some reason the GOP candidates are afraid to “let lose” with their personalities. I think any man or woman who can state their views in a clear, articulate, and commanding way can win—even if their views differ from them the opposition.

They are so afraid of pissing someone off, they command nothing. But being confident doesn’t mean condescending.

Honest people can disagree, but still work together. Someone with a vision can work with opposition, as long as the party understands the way to success is not a straight line. Even RR knew that compromise to get 80% of your goal is 80% closer than you were when the discussion began.

The states that are rife with voter fraud and which are controlled by repubs need to apportion electoral votes by counties and not winner take all.

Once that is done just about any repub ticket can win.

They can’t counter it by doing the same in states they control since that would just give repubs even more electoral votes :-)

To counter an influx of newly legalized immigrant democrat voters just extinguish all welfare in repub controlled states.... then they won’t live in those states and turn them blue. :-)

Seriously, you’ve just described the most eminently BEATABLE
ticket the GOP could EVER put forward.
Where have you been living for the past 4 or 5 years?

Exactly, the devil will be the details.

True that - and the one devil we must understand is that with the Dems in control of the WH, or either house of congress, we will NOT get a secure border and any non deportation policy will lead to voting rights and welfare hand outs. We need to all grow up and understand this.

Like I said, deportation AINT happening, but - and this is where there is tension - not EVERY non deportation policy is "amnesty." The illegals that are destroying society are those voting democrat and taking hand outs. We must stop that influx, and then address those problems. The rest can wait.....but if we divide ourselves over the rest, we lose it all for certain.

I’m not talking about Freeper women. They have brains. I’m talking about my three sisters and the women I know personally who voted for Clinton, and then George Bush, and then Obama, with no adherence to principals or logic.
Do you remember how eager women were to overlook and dismiss every women who had a story to tell about Clinton’s misogynistic behavior? How many women were willing to overlook the fact that we know nothing about the real Obama?
And George Bush won without implying he would be a surrogate husband and protect women with the largesse of the government.

If not these two, then ???

How about - a wishy-washy, entrenched GOP politician far more worried about winning votes than preserving principle?

And the overwhelming majority of GOP voters will go along. Just like they did with Romney. And McCain. And GWB. And Dole. And...
