I don't think so. Liberty oriented conservatives, and Libertarians are frequently very religious people who believe that (a) government is subservient, at best, to natural, God given rights, and (b)people should be free to make their own choices regarding religion.

When government seeks to grow and gets more and more involved in society it always tries to displace other sources of authority including family and religion. The philosophy of the left calls for the replacement of belief in religion with belief in the state. One can see that strategy in operation all around us.

There is a natural alliance between freedom, liberty and God's teaching. There is a very large body of people in our nation who may have different religions, or different ideas about how to live their own lives, but they all share the desire to live freely without the interference of the state.

Without the coercive power of the government many of the most divisive issues in society become non-issues.

(Yes, sarcasm, but to prove a point. I happen to be Roman Catholic, albeit a very conservative one compared to 99% of my co-religionists. Since you believe “God” is a necessary part of the political platform, I suppose you mean the imposition of an acceptable form of worship of God and his Christ, in the confines of his true Church, and not some schismatic stuff. And certainly no Jews allowed.
