Parsey was a huge lib. The only thing I had in common was that I disliked the birther movement (not for the same reason). I had lots of discussions with him (not about birthers), and he was a genuine progressive with most things: Health care, economics, business, growth of government, he took the leftist side in every one of those topics. I'll give an example of his insanity: He had a long discussion where he defended Michael Moore's claims that Cuba had the best health care system in the world. He claimed that capitalism was ruining medicine and that Moore understood what business was doing to this country. That's far from his only lib stance, it was common for him to take the lib side of things.
He was never rude, I got along with him okay as he normally would discuss things without resorting to name calling, but proclaiming he wasn't a flaming lib simply isn't true.
