But it's a moot point. By the time I get outside the coyotes have scattered and found cover. They're not stupid. They know just how far they can push the envelope. I take the pistol in case I run into one whose brains are scrambled by rabies. Very small odds of that I think.
Here rabies is a concern every time.
They had a child and mother get attacked by a rabid raccoon.
And we’ve had instances of rabid deer.
