It is ironic that this vanity calls for unity when Romney was so arrogant as to think he could stomp candidates into the ground and all their supporters would vote for him because of Obama.

I do not believe this vanity calls for unity around Mitt Romney. The only part about Romney is where it claims he lost because he was a Mormon (and not a Muslim like Obama).

The unity this vanity's calling for is to get behind the Republicans in Congress and support them even if they rubberstamp everything Obama sends to them. It says we need to "show backbone" and support them even if they let Obama walk all over them and stomp all over the US Constitution.

Yes, there are republicans who put party above nation just like there are democrats who put party above nation. To them it's no different than the Yankees vs Red Sox. It's a game, nothing more. I certainly would not think that passing a bill that increases taxes with no spending cuts put our children and grand-children first. I don't see how much of anything this republican controlled House has done puts nation first. That's the unity the vanity is calling for.
