Keep in mind that the Swiss are, for all intents and purposes, an homogenous society. A quick review of their demographics will reveal few illegal immigrants, few minorities, and low unemployment.

The Swiss can afford to have "reasonable" laws in that they have a reasonable society.

Switzerland has four official languages and still keeps track of refugees who entered the country centuries ago ~ e.g. Hungarians.

Not homogenous ~ united in keeping European rulers out of the place ~ which is always a problem.

Remember in the last century over 50 million Europeans were murdered with firearms!
