I agree totally! Well said!
Too late. Never will get enough votes to win. America is finished as a Republic and sailing into a communists controlled dictatorship.
Count me in.
I suggest ‘who is for dinner’.
Words do have meaning.
and in this sense,
‘ The divisiveness between Republicans and Democrats seems insurmountable’
The Parties, by their record, are the same. The Reps for a little less taxes, a little less spending, and no robust opposition to the Liberal ideologues radical agenda. The ‘divisiveness’ is about payoffs, paybacks, and whose crony gets more government money. The Repubs can be bitter and snarky but flop when it counts on the big deals.
In terms of operational doctrine, the Parties are the same.
And the voting record shows it. TARP, repeated Debt limit concession and failure and so on.
TWB
We need to face a hard truth. We know Romney is no conservative. But, because of a successful propaganda campaign by the Dims and media, moderates and independents thought he was a conservative. They thought they were voting against us.
We need to quit whining about the Republican Party and start cultivating articulate and electable conservatives who can explain why our ideas and programs are better for the country.
I was against a third party until Boener teamed up with the Democrats to get Obama’s tax increase through.
At this point, they could care less about us, so I’ll vote Third Party unless I see some REAL respect for the Tea Party.
>> two wolves (the RepubliCrats) and a sheep (the people) trying to figure out whats for dinner.
I suggest who is for dinner.
Words do have meaning.
Yes they certainly do. Sheep are herbivores. They do not eat anything considered to be a “who”. Wolves are ominvores. They eat “who” and “what”. The common denominator for the two would be “what” and not “who”. Since I put RepubliCats and People in parentheses, the “what” should agree with the nouns outside of the parentheses, and not the ones inside.
I got one bone to pick. Divisiveness between the parties does not extend to our fiscal problems (our most important and dangerous problems) as both parties are complicit in destroying our country through fiscal irresponsibilty.
Do we need a third party?
Yes. Can it save us?
Doubtful as it’s already too late. If such a party got elected and was able to implement the cutting necessary to save the country, it would immediately be voted right back out of office.
I withdrew from the Republican party last Friday. Forcwant of a better choice, I joined the Libertarian party. We ‘re not in complete agreement but, after the Boehner reelection, I’m a lot closer to them than the Republican party.
I’ve been advocating this idea since the day after the election. Altho the Tea Party and Conservative Party
are more than worthy of their own platform, we are
‘Tea-stained’, and conservative dems or indies won’t come near us.
If the Independent Party is not using THEIR platform for anything monumental I think we oughta infiltrate there
and thereby allow any others of the same general mind-set to join in.
We MUST get control of the purse strings as soon as we possibly can. American freedoms must be protected and preserved, brought back where they’ve been taken away. The debt and dem spending is our greatest danger.
Social issues will have to be put on the back burner. I’d never advocate endorsing an abortionist, for instance.
My apologies to any Indies who take offense at my suggestion, but this is a vital issue, and we need your platform.
BTW, I’m re-registered as an Indy now. The GOPe will never respect my wishes, and they can shove their chosen candidates up their poopshutes.
Taking the ‘I’ party, which is already established and recognized, is the way I see a possibility of strength.
Agreed.
A second party would be just fine, as today there is only one and one and a half.
The American Party has had a variety of incarnations, dating back to the 1850's.
Perhaps it's most remembered version was the 1855-1860 one. Outsiders called them "Know-Nothings" and the name stuck.
There are well over 50 "Third" Parties in the USA today.
There's always room for one more.
The Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, Green Party, America's Party, Independent American Party, Reform Party, Justice Party, Socialist Party USA, Peace and Freedom Party, etc, etc, all say hello!
We already have 3rd party's and they don't amount to a hill of beans. All the talk about the Constitution Party we heard right here on FR this election cycle and they ended up doing far worse in 2012 than they even did in 2008. Virgil Goode couldn't even get .1% of the vote.
I propose that the disgruntled citizens of the United States Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians persons of every race, religion, economic status, and whoever else is interested, join together and form a new party. Id simply call it, the American Party.
Yeah, because disgruntled Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, etc, who don't agree on anything now will suddenly agree on so much more if they were under the banner of some new party. This is just pie in the sky nonsense. Disgruntled Democrats are just as likely to be mad the Democrat party isn't left wing enough. Why would we think they'd suddenly have something in common with renegade conservatives who are pissed the GOP isn't conservative enough? Real libertarians want nothing to do with social conservatives, why is there any reason to think conservatives in this new party would be any more willing to jettison the social conservative positions than they are now?
These 3rd party ideas are a bunch of blather. They never go anywhere and are obviously unworkable. It's just intellectual laziness because it's a lot easier to dream of 3rd party's than deal with the actual hard work of pushing the Republican party to the right one painful step at a time.
We don’t have two parties now. TWe have the Social Democrat Party and its official Opposition Scapegoat wing. It may be true that a national candidate cannot get elected unless he be either labeled “Democrat” or “Republican” but just how dos that bind the voters to vote for people who are anathema to the Republic? If you have to choose between a Leninist or a Fabian where is the choice? Why vote? Either will get you a bullet in the head in a couple of years and your children working slave labor in the FEMALAG, those that survive the famine.
If we had enough votes to make a viable 3rd party we would enough votes to control the party we have now.
I’m in... yesterday
Has the Third Partys Time Come? YES
But beware of a lot of crossovers who want to join the new party and pollute the formation with their ‘compromise’ perspectives.
Keep the platform simple:
CUT SPENDING, ROLL BACK INTRUSION, DECENTRALIZE, PROSECUTE
Cut spending including entitlements
Cut taxes
Repeal Obamacare
Decentralize the federal government
Prosecute the banks, green scammers, gunrunners to Mexico
Securitize schools with state of the art surveillance
and so on....
No abortion debate (let the states take that on)
No gay marriage debate (let states get it done)
and so on. On these issues castrate the budgets of federal courts that make these issues their hobby.
Keep all the emotional/wedge issues out of new party’s focus. issues like gun control. Again let states get it done but beef up budgets of federal courts that back the Second Amendment.
Keep scientific nonsense such as Climate Change out of the new party talking points. Instead surreptitiously launch a scientific commission that obliterates the lies and nonsense that the Left wants to establish as a basis for global taxation and redistribution.
Keep a low profile on all things except budgets, deficits, money management, debt. Keep these at the forefront and all the massive federal intrusion will be rolled back as a consequence of the cuts taken.
LONGTERM
Repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments
Abolish the Federal Reserve and Bring Back the Gold Standard
Long Prison sentences for Vote Fraud
