Government regulations require cooperation from the regulated. Prohibition of alcohol is the best example of a very unpopular regulation. It actually created a nation of scofflaws. People ignored not just to the ban of alcohol but also pretty much all laws in general including traffic laws and on up to include more serious laws. Let the gun control freaks have their obscene circle jerk. The broke and broken government can’t even afford to protect our embassies much less our schools. How would we expect them to confront each gun owner to take away weapons. Ignore their expectation of cooperation. This too will pass
It's kind of amazing to see people take the idea of door to door gun confiscation seriously. If the authorities had to execute a no-knock on just 1% of the 80,000,000 gun owners that's 800k houses. Just looking at that economically what would the operational costs of 800k no-knocks be? Never happen.
I wrote the following a few months ago...
I have seen a number of posts talking about incremental gun control. The slow but steady push to limit our right to own guns and reduce the number of guns in private hands. And that is what the Dem/libs have been doing for decades now. And this is how it has been working out in the last two decades...
- The percentage of Americans who own guns has increased.
- The percentage of Americans who believe we have a right to own guns has increased.
- The number of guns owned per gun owner has increased.
- The amount of ammunition possessed per gun owner has increased.
- Concealed carry laws have spread from state to state like wildfire.
- Castle Doctrine laws have been passed in numerous states that didn't have them.
- Stand Your Ground laws have been passed in more states than had them before.
- Gun rights lobbying groups have become a cottage industry unto themselves sprouting up like mushrooms after a rainstorm.
- In the worst economy since the Great Depression the firearms industry can't keep up with orders or expand fast enough.
If the lefties keep pushing gun control this way in another two decades one out of two Americans may be gun owners instead of one out of three.
MOLON LAVE!
