You go to some church with a rock band and sermons based on movies; and your metrosexual pastor has assured you that things have changed since the Old Covenant gave way to the New. We can’t necessarily deal with governments the way the righteous people of the Old Testament did, etcetera, etcetera, yadda, yadda.

The problem with this notion is that the New Testament does not really give any cover for Christians to disobey or rebel against their government, except insofar as they are obligated to disobey them when commanded to do something against God's commands.

And the Roman Empire was a good deal more oppressive than the US government of today. Haven't noticed any public crucifixions or feeding of dissidents to wild animals recently.

So you find the Founders guilty of high treason. Good to know. If true, then the current government isn’t a valid government is it?

You have nothing left to do but martyr yourself.

Anything the government requires you to do that reduces your ability to protect your family goes against God’s commands.

Pretty Lame response, but then I guess you consider the Founding Fathers a bunch of Heathen Sinners as well.

Our government is far more insidious than that of the Romans.

It has arranged for 50 million of our children to be murdered by their mothers.

god allows for personal self-defense and the defense of others. there is no duty to allow others to take away that god-given right, they cannot lawfully do that since God gave you and everyone that right, not government. self defense predates all forms of human government.
