PIERS Morgan has blasted Americans for posting snaps of guns they got for Christmas just two weeks after the Sandy Hook massacre.

Smiling Yanks posed with their deadly gifts in front of Christmas trees and wrapped presents.

But the bizarre images of left broadcaster Piers, 47, “unsettled”.

The telly presenter, who hosts Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, is campaigning for stricter gun laws in the US.

Piers wrote on the CNN website: “I’ve made my own views clear on my show. The senseless killing has to stop.”

Just two weeks ago, Adam Lanza, 20, shot dead his mother, 20 children and six school staff in Newtown, Connecticut.

But this week, the world’s largest firearms dealer, Brownells, said it had sold three-and-a-half years’ worth of magazines for the AR-15, used by Lanza, in just three days, and are struggling to meet demand.

And just days after Christmas, Americans showed off their new automatic weapons on Facebook and Twitter...

All moral people want to stop murder. The fallacy is that eliminating firearms will stop all murders. Timothy McVay killed hundreds of people with bags of fertilizer. A man in Japan killed over 20 children with an automobile. Let us assume that those that want to prohibit law abiding citizens from owning guns are rational. They know that guns aren't the problem. Any rational person knows this. There must be another reason for banning guns. What could it be? I suspect that it is the fear that citizens may use weapons to protect themselves from the political ruling class.

"New automatic weapons..." Unless you were looking at a law enforcement web site, you didn't see a single "new automatic weapon." Automatic weapons sales to civilians have been strictly limited since 1934, and NO "NEW" automatic weapons manufactured after 1986 have been legally sold to civilians.

From 1976-2005, per DOJ statistics, blacks were 12% of the US population yet accounted for 52.2% of all homicides committed. Blacks commit most of the murders yet are a small portion of the population. When will you discuss this Piers?
