Exactly. In this day and age when whack jobs feel empowered to express themselves violently to get their ten minutes of fame... The question isn’t gun control, it is why the hell aren’t you armed to protect yourself and your loved ones? Seriously, not being prepared to defend your family is reckless to the point of almost being a negligent parent. You’ve got life insurance to provide for them if something happens to you. You drive around with seat belts, air bags etc. You put your kids in car seats, made them wear helmets on their bikes. You have homeowners insurance, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors... Most of these things you will never use, so why do you expend resources on them? Because if you need then and don’t have them the consequences are too severe. That is why you have them, even if you’ll probably never use them. Now consider a home invasion, car jacking, violent mugging, rape, or outright murder. Pretty severe consequences, why aren’t you prepared to deal with it?
