Webster apologizes for comments:
"It was my intention to talk not about race, but about perceived voting irregularities," Webster said in a written statement. "However, my comments were made without proof of wrongdoing and they had the unintended consequence of casting aspersions on an entire group of Americans. For that, I am truly sorry."

I heard/read that Webster had made some accusations. Based upon the quoted material it was general in nature with no specifics as to where, when, time, etc.

The article also cited another accusations about college students which was investigated but not found to be accurate.

Maine allows voter registration up to the election but does require some very specific identifications according to their website. So if people were registering that day they had to provide some specific ID or else the polling precinct people were lax in their duties. Otherwise they would have had to been on the voter roles or so it would seem to me.

Thanks for the link.
