Thank you for your continued prayers for Keegan. The latest update involves more surgery. we are going forward with the g-button. Surgery is Friday at 7:30am. He is up to 7lbs 2oz. and we are hoping that once he gets the feeding tube out of his nose, his breathing will improve and he can get off of O2. The neurologist liked his ultrasound Monday so they didn’t adjust the shunt. We met with lots of people and sounds like once the g-button is done, we can start working on going home.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the updaste Ladyiris58. This sounds like good news. Keeping Keegan in our prayers of course, tomorrow morning especially.
The exact same as my grandson Oscar James' birth weight. Well it was several hours after he was born that the nurse midwives got around to weighing him... with a fish scale and a sling. They do things a bit differently for home births. :)
From Monday, 18 Feb. :
Last we checked he was 6lbs 12oz still bouNcing betweeN 12.5 aNd 25% O2 and arouNd 10-20ml wheN he takes a bottle. They giving him a few more days to progress oN feeding otherwise its lookiNg pretty likely he will get a gbutton. Getting aNother head ultrasound today to check how hiS shunt is doing
And then from today, 21 Feb:
So just got off the phone with Coventry and not only did the UNMC case manager pull some strings and get him a pediatrician instead of a family practitioner, she got him the exact same pediatrician his cousins go to.
All I have to say is:
GO KEEGAN GO!
GROW KEEGAN GROW!
Although he seems be doing pretty well on the growing. What a tough little guy!
I just had a thought too. Maybe Keegan James and Oscar James can meet someday. Wouldn't be too surprising. Oscar's folks like to travel, and two of his Great Grandmas do live in the same state as Keegan, with my Mom being in the same city.
