I believe most, if not all, were hoping Romney would win and provide a small light of hope.

The ONLY solace I take is that Romney win was never going to me much of a 'win' in the first place.

He was no Reagan

And 70% of the primary voters tried to tell the GOP they wanted SOMEONE ELSE other than "Frontrunner" Mitt.
