I agree, full blown amnesty was tried by Reagan in 1986 and we got several million democrat votes for Clinton and obama. We also have to remember that decent people are waiting in line to be citizens.

If the GOP supports anything that involves some hint of amnesty, watch as even more of the base feels alienated and refuses to vote on election day.
