Hussein didn’t just surrender in the war on terror. He defected.

Oh, it is much worse than that. Since the 60"s we have been trying to bring the 3rd world higher standards of living and out of the dark ages....all those programs to help them and the programs to let them come here to be educated so they would take that knowledge, return and teach others. Propping up regimes that for us would seem like dictators but forced their islamic populace to allow some freedom through strongman force Until such a time they began to understand and cherish freedom.

This disgusting islamic creep that our MSM did not vet has sent Egypt and Libya back to the stone age of islamic control with Syria on its way to join them and Jordon is just starting to think about it also. 60 years of work and ideas thrown out the door because dems are blind to reality and truth.

We are going to have a huge islamic caliphate under the total islamic control with nothing stopping it and soon an islamic nuclear Iran supplying them....nice.

Obama is much worse than Carter. It will be almost impossible for those countries to recover.

This president has helped enemies that want to destroy this country because that is what islam is. This president has committed treason ....period.

I think Syria just gave Obama a bloody nose in Benghazi. They sent the message, along with Russia and Iran, to stop supplying the Syrian rebels. If there was 150 attackers, why didn’t they overrun the annex and drag American bodies through the street? Because it was a raid and not an attack. They didn’t want to leave any bodies or prisoners to trace back to Syria. The question still remains, why no American military support for Benghazi? Maybe we would have been killing Russians. The still bigger unanswered question is, what do Obama and Hillary care about Libya and Egypt? They are just a couple of Democrat grifters out to enrich themselves and Democrat campaign chests. What was in this for them?

Yes that is true. There were loads of Soviet influence in the Middle East during the Cold War -- and Putin continues it today -- even though Russia has its own troubles with Islamists.

There was even communists in Iran and the USSR that helped Ayatollah Khomeini to oust the Shah. If I remember correctly.

Germany in WWI allowed Lenin to return to Russia as the revolution unfolded for the purpose of allowing the revolution to start. It was a strategy to get Russia to exit the war and it worked.

In WWII Germany stoked islam to fight Great Britain to divert British war resources to islamic countries which, of course, had some effect but not enough to be decisive in the outcome of the war.

Both the U.S. and Russia have been covertly using islamists to cause problems for each other for decades.

"But even so, the bigger issue is: What is obumbler’s ultimate plan for that area?"

I don't know what his ultimate plan is, but I found this thread (and the article it links to) interesting:

Miramar fighter jets deployed in secret to Mideast

The entire Mideast is boiling over and ready to erupt like Mt. Vesuvius.
