BTW, a year ago, I was helping (for about 2 weeks) a fellow repairing a concrete sailboat. I liked the lines of the hull - it was ocean-worthy - but I’m not so sure that I’d risk a concrete hull, trans- large body of water.

I’d much prefer steel.

I’ve seen some good ferro boats, mostly over 50’. A lot of bad boats give them all a bad name, but there are some good ones left. Not many. If I wanted an escape pod in a hurry, I’d get a 30-35’ used fiberglass boat, no doubt about it.
