Wal-Mart Chairman Gives $1M To Obama Super PAC; Bundlers Moonlight As Super PAC Donors
By Luke Rosiak October 20, 2012 The super PAC backing President Obama raised $15 million last month, including $1 million from Sam Walton, the chairman of Wal-Mart, a traditional Republican-leaning organization.
Also contributing $1 million to Priorities USA was filmmaker Steven Spielberg, whose colleague Jeffrey Katzenberg is an Obama bundler and gave $1 million himself. Fred Eychaner, who has raised at least half a million dollars from acquaintances for the Obama campaign, gave $2 million personally to the super PAC.

The Solyndra - Walmart Connection
09/29/2011
A lot has been said about the ties of George Kaiser, a campaign contribution bundler for President Obamas 2008 campaign, to the Solyndra bankruptcy scandal that likely has cost taxpayers $535 million thanks to a Department of Energy loan guarantee. Kaisers investment firm, Argonaut Venture Capital, held over 35 percent of the failed solar companys stock more than anyone else.
But next in line (with 11 percent) behind Argonaut in the Solyndra stakes is Madrone Capital Partners, which is managed by a trio whom the political Left has attempted to tie to support for Republicans. Of course, they did it too is not a legitimate defense, but in this case, its not a portrayal of the entire picture either.
Madrone is tied to the Walton family of Walmart fame and is co-managed by an in-law, Gregory Penner, who also serves as a Walmart director. He is the son-in-law of S. Robson Rob Walton, married to his daughter Carrie. Rob, Walmart Stores chairman of the board, is one of founder Sam Waltons sons. Madrones other partners are listed as Jameson Jamie McJunkin and Thomas Patterson, and McJunkin is also a director for Solyndra.
Walmart can no longer be portrayed as a “conservative” or “Republican” company. Beginning under former CEO Lee Scott, and accelerating under present CEO Mike Duke, Walmart has become a powerful backer of a host of left-wing causes. This shift is detailed in an NLPC Special Report titled Wal-Mart Embraces Controversial Causes: Bid to Appease Liberal Interest Groups Will Likely Fail, Hurt Business.

Thanks! The last time I checked, it hadn’t been posted yet.
I was going to post it but I hesitated because I was not sure of the name of the website that the ex Freeper owns that we’re not suppose to articles from. I could not find it on the list of sites. I thought it either had the word “Washington” or “Examiner” in it. So, to be on the safe side I didn’t post it.
Indeed.
Samuel Robson “Rob” Walton.
Thanks
“Hmmm? Was it given out of fear or stupidity?”
Sam Walton’s eldest son is now Chairman of the company (S. Robson Walton). He did not build the business. He is a second generation trust fund child who has a law degree and $21 billion he inherited from his father and mother. Likely he was properly indoctrinated in liberal ideology in college and law school. To maintain in status with the New York elites he is making this gift from his own pocket, not company funds.
With respect to fear, no doubt Mr. Walton has reasons for making the gift. As personally wealthy as he is, it is unlikely the administration could threaten him so the gift likely reflects a desire to ingratiate himself with the beautiful people or genuine admiration for Obama and the party.
Mr. Walton and others who are opening their wallets for Mr. Obama are fortunate the Republicans (since Nixon) will not take action to punish their opponents once elected. As one of the wealthiest men in the country, and member of the elite class, Mr. Walton will likely receive a social invitation from Mr. Romney to the White House, even though he is funding the Democrats. Same for Mr. Buffett, the leaders of the big media companies, and the CEO’s of the Wall Street Banks. Blue blood transcends politics, at least for Republicans.
as has been reported repeatedly by NLPC, the Walton family while yes, often supporting Republican candidates and particularly passionate about the school choice issue has also thrown considerable money into environmental causes. Even more significant, Walmart incessantly boasts of its commitments to sustainability, cap-and-trade, and even ObamaCare. Press releases about new solar panels installed at the companys stores are issued regularly. Walmarts reputation for environmental activism became so great that the company is now the subject of a fawning book titled Force of Nature, The Unlikely Story of Walmarts Green Revolution: How It Could Transform Business and Save the World, about their allegedly conservationist practices, despite eight consecutive quarters of same-store sales declines.
THANK YOU, for that information!
I was stunned by his alleged donation Absolutely stunned.
suppose they think they need a large and increasing peasant population to keep making dough...
Holy crap....this is huge. Get ready for the boycott! Last dime spent at Wal-Mart here!
Anyone who can claim that much stupidity at this late date must be of the lichen genus.
I’ve been trying to direct as much of my household purchasing as possible to Wal-Mart in support of their past conservative leanings and being attacked by unions so much in recent years.
If profits go to the radical left, though, that ends right now.
There ya’ go. Nailed it, didn’t you?
No one but the commies in office have caused Walmart more headaches and cost them millions than the Clinton and the Obama administrations, particularly the Chucky Schumer machine.
This is a deplorable bribe for relief, or the Waltons are being used in some global connection with China is just as likely. There must be more to this story than meets our eye, and none of it looks good.
Disappointing
Yet another illustration of why we need to stop feeding the beast!
Gerald Celente is right - buy local, bank local.
Cut off funding; that’s all most of us can do to effect change. It’ll cost a little more and sometimes is inconvenient, but if we all do it we’ll be the better off for it, I assure you.
Walmart was the last American sore that I visited, on my way to the airport in Jan. 2005.
I never expect to see another one.
Wow, Wal-Mart just pooped on their biggest supporters.
Bingo!
I wonder if this has to do with Walmarts desire to get cheap crap out of China?
