“they have started to believe their own presentations”

More commonly, one might say, “they have started to believe their own B________.” Always a risky thing to do.

“disappointed Democrats as it re-enforced a prejudice against both Republicans and wealthy people.”

I don’t think they have a problem with wealthy Hollywood moguls or wealthy dictators. Actually, I think they’re kind of fond of them. As for the other wealthy, if you donate sufficiently to the appropriate NGOs and utter the appropriate leftist shibboleths with sufficient conviction, you too can be loved.

Republicans, though, are irredeemable, especially after the Republican primary has been settled.

Yet, in what has to be the worst case of political wishful thinking ever, Senator Kerry was chosen to prepare the president to debate Governor Romney.

Its like when Alda or Dreyfus play a conservative politician in the movies. They do these ridiculous caricatures and think they deserve an Academy Award.
