War On Terrorism: Intelligence sources believe the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya was tied to al-Qaida and led by a former Gitmo detainee released in 2007 and handed over to Libya.
Intelligence sources have told Fox News they are sure the deadly attack was directly tied to al-Qaida and a former Guantanamo detainee — Sufian bin Qumu (full name Abu Sufian Ibrahim Ahmed Hamuda Bin Qumu). Given the track record of former Gitmo detainees being released, only to return to killing Americans, we are not surprised.
On Wednesday's Special Report, Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge reported that intelligence sources believe Qumu was likely involved in the attack, and even may have led the siege on the consulate that killed four Americans including our ambassador to Libya.
Since he was released from Gitmo in 2007, the Obama administration — which claims that thousands of demonstrators, after viewing a several-months-old short American film, spontaneously showed up at our Libyan embassy — will no doubt say this was President George W. Bush's fault, too.
Qumu was transferred on Sept. 28, 2007, to Libyan custody on the condition that he be held in a Libyan prison. Instead, Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi in 2010 freed him from the notorious Abu Salim prison in Tripoli, along with 37 other prisoners, to celebrate the dictator's 41st year in power.
In 2011, he became the leader of a band of fighters in his hometown of Derna during the Libyan civil war.
It was the Libyans who released him, not the Bush administration, and it was an Obama administration that has declared the war on terror to be over and that has said the detainee facility at Guantanamo should be closed that either was blissfully unaware of or indifferent to Qumu's threat.

Like it or not, this is on Bush's watch. And as I recall, pretty much all FReepers said any such moves were stupid and would result with the released prisoners launching attacks against US targets again.

The title says released from Libyan prison on the zero’s watch - not from Gitmo. I hope they tell us the terrorist’s name. They’re going to try and blame Bush for this.
Facts:
*Having 3 days’ notice to send in the military and not doing so was on the zero’s watch. Bush would not have sat on his haunches.
*The inability to defend themselves with real ammunition is on the zero’s watch. Bush would not leave our guys as sitting ducks.

Don’t know about you, but I started swearing in late 2008.
I will never understand wy when the lib/dems started this BS that GW didn’t get on TV and say in no uncertain terms that release of Gitmo prisoners to anyone would result in this. And that as a national security issue the SC and the Dems could pound salt. The “They made the decision, now let them enforce it’ strategy.
Bush screwed up, CONGRESS post 2010 screwed up not hammering Obama through the wall...but Obama and the dems bear ultimate responsibility. History will be harsh on them all.
Old lord McCain was a loud as any lib/dem on emptying out Gitmo. He wanted them brought to Ft. Leavenworth, KS. I would love to know old lord McCain's angle in all of this since 2000, he hardly led a 'conservative' front. He and Billy Kristol led the charge to oust Rummy from the Pentagon almost from day one of Rummy being sworn in. Old lord McCain has some explaining to do, as he was as much a cheerleader in the Arab Spring as Obama or Clinton.
