Not all gays wear their sexuality on their sleeve. You
may even know a gay or two without knowing it. Per-
sonally, those who keep their activities to themselves
do not bother me at all. I work w/a few gays and I’m
on friendly terms with a few lesbians. Even invited to
a lesbian wedding recently. I asked “When is it?” She
answered “Next February”. I replied “Ah, I’m busy that
day”. She laughed.
I don’t know if Ambassador Stevens was gay but he was
born in my small hometown and I had the pleasure of
having his grandfather Elmer “Chief” Stevens for a
substitute teacher several times in HS. That folks are only
speculating about the sexual preference of Chris Stevens
is a sign to me that he was not one to flaunt his sexuality
and I doubt that bastards who killed him knew or cared.
Everything I have read about Ambassador Stevens has been nothing less than honorable. I do feel that someone who may have known he was gay and still let him stay in Libya, knowing the feelings muslims have for gays, did him a huge disservice.
Working in aviation, most gay flight attendants I know, are loud and proud. This is not to say all gays are but I do think they are sheltered here in the US and should not expect the same attitude in other countries.
I can only hope the animals who tortured and killed Ambassador Stevens are captured and burned alive.
