I feel like I ought to start out each of my articles anymore with a disclaimer, or caveat saying something along the lines of “WARNING: The contents of this article are to be considered null and void in the event of a “Reichstag Fire,” false flag event, and/or an invasion by Russian Spetsnaz in collusion with Northcom,“or words to that effect.
My intent is not to make light of such concerns, as God knows we have reason enough to be more than a bit edgy these days—what with the Patriot Act, NDAA, the torrent of Obama EOs (Executive Orders), various government agencies stockpiling millions of rounds of ammo, and other such things.
Personally, I am what you might call a cynical optimist—I hope for the best, but plan for the worst. I keep myself open to the idea that the US can peacefully pull itself out of the colossal mess that it is currently mired in—but I have enough guns, ammo, freeze dried food and whatnot to open a small survivalist store.
Be that as it may—the main topic that I wish to address in this article is my decision to back the Romney/Ryan ticket, and the fallout from that. Contrary to what some of you may think, I have not rushed off and enlisted in the “Dark Side.” I am as opposed to the Big Bank/ Big Corporation/Big Government/Big War cabal as ever...

It's amusing, because God clearly states in scripture that he has no part with darkness, and will never compromise with sin and evil - and yet you tell us that standing on principles (our faith) is a suicide pact that is a sin, if we DON'T compromise and give into supporting a man whose record is anathema to our faith and principles.
You are free to sell your soul and your principles to assuage your fear of Obama. But don't be telling the rest of us what we ought to do with ours. We're not voting for Romney.

Sure. Willard is a nice looking guy. Has a nice family. Made himself a lot of money. He is also a political opportunist with a record of supporting things like gun control and abortion that I find anathema.
I’ve been wrong on politcal candidates before and openly admitted it. I voted for John McCain in 2008. In retrospect, it was a mistake. I don’t have a problem with course changes. Being unwilling to re-examine your beliefs, even closely held ones, is the mark of a zealot.
If willard is elected and shows how he has indeed turned away from his past, I will gladly...no ECSTATICALLY... admit my error. I just don’t think we’re going to see that. Rather, what I think we’ll see is the leftist willard unrestrained...consolidating his power and effectively consigning any conservatives who don’t go with his way to the margins.
Want to see reform within the gop? With willard at the helm, I think it’s safe to assume that you can kiss those dreams goodbye. You can also kiss any meaningful political reform goodbye. I fear God first and foremost. Since I love Him, I keep His Commandments which form the foundation of my principles. Romney’s record is not one I can or will support, because I fear God more than you fear Obama.
I won’t abandon my principles ever again. I don’t expect you to either.
But this thread has been instructive as to the views Romney’s rabid supporters have and hold for Christian Conservatives who refuse to compromise their faith.
