THIS, is what I worry about much with my mother. Not to mention her own health being affected by it. My mother has always been “faithful” but especially now, she seems to question “why me?” and “why after all these prayers and penances?” and the like. I.e., how could God let this happen - you know. I don’t want her to lose Faith. I don’t want her to be cynical or faithless because of it. As you said, things like this happen every day, not just to us. And it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us or is punishing us. Just that it’s part of God’s bigger plan. That’s all I can say about it, but I’m not very good at talking to Mom about it.
