Again, I think all today's religions are a sham. I have challenged many people here to prove that their religion is true. I'm tired of dealing with the insults, especially when they will not answer the challenge.

You see, people usually respond; but they never answer.

I believe it was Aristotle who abhorred those who claimed to have a special connection with the Almighty and would grant absolution for a consideration. There's a lot of money in every church, if you sell the right thing. Religions now sell forgiveness and redemption for violating the ten suggestions; they don't sell virtue. There's lots of buyers.

Aristotle is dead.

Faith is like a well educated, erudite Jain polymath in the 6th century AD leaving the comfort of his skyclad existence and grabbing a linen sheet and a begging bowl and taking up the life of a missionary to the ends of the Earth.

Eventually, according to those who study such matters, a number of such missionaries should have ended up in Dark Ages Scotland.

And, in fact, we have records of holy men dressed only in a coarse wrap preaching Ahemsa ~ total non violence and forgiveness ~ we even have the sermons delivered by some of them.

Without them the early Dark Age would have been particularly brutal and not just nasty.
