Our Odds of Beating Obama Are Better By Dumping Mitt in a Brokered Convention

BrokeredConvention

147 Degrees West (@147DW) has done a wonderful job of putting together the success rate of nominees wrought from a brokered convention.  The conclusion: Odds of Beating Obama Are Better By Dumping Mitt.

Many automatically assume that Mitt Romney is the presumptive nominee of the Republican party, and that the Tampa convention will end up being nothing more than a Guthy-Renker Romney infomercial.

That will be news to the Lawyers for Ron Paul who have filed a little covered Federal, civil rights lawsuit, against the GOP and many state GOP parties for election fraud on behalf of the Romney campaign.  And yes; although it's no where near the extent of fraud conducted by the Obama campaign in 2008 (or even this year), it has occurred blatantly.  In many states including Maine, Missouri, Massachusetts, Oklahoma (and even Puerto Rico) votes went unrecorded or delegates were excluded from caucuses.

Too many of our Conservative friends are Republicans first.

They are simply outing themselves.

Frankly, your lack of interest is simply contemptible. Mitt’s own father fessed up on his taxes for 12 years. So what’s wrong with sprout here.

Mitt's own father set the original standard at 12 years.

You got some kind of problem with George Romney?

Clearly Palin excites the base, has name recognition and experience in running on the national level. If she would be unwilling there is Gov. Scott Walker who stared down the libs and has executive experience and a solid record to run on. Also from Wisconsin, Paul Ryan has solid budgget experience, good looking, well spoken with loads of experience punching back at libs. I don’t know as much about Gov. Scott in Florida but have been told by a conservative friend in Fla that he is underappreciated and universally hated by Florida libs for standing up to them. It is not that case that conservatives lack a “bench”.

Then let’s get rid of the Marxist in our own side first ~ get rid of Romney, then go to the other side and get rid of Obama.

LD, you are so full of it. Aren't you doing your Temple Work a bit early this month?

Let me put it this way, if a Mormon could ever win the Presidency, it'd have to be against a candidate as bad as Obama, or maybe even worse than Obama because it isn't at all clear his side is willing to give him up to Mitt.

Best your boy stand aside for a real man at the convention.

You made it your business when you issued your little challenge ~ to wit; "Overpaying taxes shows a lack of financial smarts "

When you make a statement like that as part of a debate it behoves you to be able to BACK IT UP.

You are taking Barack Obama and Harry Reids bait. They are throwing the class warfare stuff at Romney.

Romney has already (I think) released the required years of tax info.

Reid and Obama are launching a fishing expedition.

Dumping Willard for Dr. Paul doesn't sound like a winning combo.

How about dumping Willard for West, Palin, or Cain?

Think what you want. Mitt's dad thought 12 years was OK. Earlier Mitt himself showed McCain 23 years worth. So, what's wrong with 2007, 2008 and 2009?

I do believe I have successfully targeted in on the returns where they might be either AMAZEMENT or QUESTIONS.

The fact I'm getting attacked by some of our better known Mittbots tells me that.

No, the requests seem of a “you didn't build that” Obama or Occupy nature. It seems the ones asking are the class warfare nature.
The idea is to keep asking Romney for more and more and say he is “covering up” if he doesn't produce.
It seems to me to be a simple drive by character assault; a James Carville tactic.

If they keep asking for enough info; there will be something they could use. Maybe donations to a charity the left doesn't like? Maybe some deduction that can paint him as an elitist?
Who knows.

Presidential candidates should be called (drafted) to run. It’s time to end this sideshow of incompetent RINO prima donnas whom don’t have the expertise to run a lemonade stand.

It's the scale of the thing ~ think of Mitt like a large corporation ~ not at all like your friendly neighborhood investor with a few tens of millions lying about in property, stocks and bonds.

Obviously any loss carry-backs or carry-forwards are going to make a MAJOR impact in terms of tax refunds or payments.

But what I think's going on with the people who don't want one of the world's richer individuals to give away is the idea that he's really smarter than everyone else and can foresee catastrophe.

Frankly, having had to deal with larger sums on behalf of the US government I'm not all that impressed with a 1/4 billion bucks ~ but I sure never had any major losses ~ so what about Mitt? Does he want me to respect him in the morning, or have a good laugh.

Agreed.

Either these party people are smart enough to figure out how to win, or they're not.

The fact is the prima donas hire on a bunch of campaign professionals who know how to evade the full force of the rules ~ so we end up with doufous's who can't win because they are unlikeable, insufficiently intelligent, ignant, or even evil.

If the political party is to mean anything it needs to act like a party representing its various coalition partners, or it needs to be put to a painful death of a thousand cuts.

“is the idea that he's really smarter than everyone else and can foresee catastrophe.”

No idea what you mean by that. I could care less about his money. I would much prefer someone who started with with nothing and built a real business. The Bain thing to me isn't as impressive as someone who started with nothing and built a 100 person machine shop, restaurant; or maybe a trucking company.

But it is what is. Romney is the GOP candidate it highly appears.
He is at least a capitalist and not a Marxist. He will I hope be in favor of a smaller and less intrusive government in contrast to the current President.
I see no point in our side joining the Occupy crowd and harassing him about his net worth. We know he is rich.

EXACTLY. Anyone who doesn’t see that and who instead wish for 4 more years of failed Marxism is themselves a liberal Marxist, statist loser.

Since when do REAL conservatives give a crap what other private citizens EARN??? And esp. why would a REAL conservative obsess over someone else’s TAXES?

Unless that person is NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE.
