There should be a requirement that Congress rescind 10% of the laws on the books every year.
Correctmundo!!! If every law passed by the Congress, the state legislatures and city and county politicians could be enforced, we would be the most oppressed nation on earth!! EXAMPLE: There are currently over 20,000 gun laws actively on the books today and the nannystater leftists want to add more just to make sure that CONSERVATIVES (who are the only people who obey the law!!)are thoroughly under their control!!!
When you get tired of the outrageous tactics of the left, you will have to get off your duff and do something more than trudge down to your local polling place and hope that your vote will fix the ship of state. It won't. Corrupt politicians have perverted and circumvented the process to the extent that what we think we know about the Constitution may have been correct about 150 years ago. But, they have covertly altered, manipulated and skewed the rules so much that how we think the system works and the way the system ACTUALLY works are polar opposites of each other.
Fewer laws would work only if we gave judges broader discretion in applying the law. One of the reasons we have so many laws is because our legal system is so legally minded.
Real world example: Nutbar runs down half a herd of deer with a snowmobile, leaving a bloody mess. The perp gets no punishment because a loophole existed. A citizen can’t be charged for animal cruelty while hunting, and the perp was hunting. So, the legislature meets and creates a new law to fill the loophole. If common sense instead of legalism applied, the judge would have just said hell no, that doesn’t apply to your sick client, and it wouldn’t have been necessary. However, it doesn’t work that way.
